TTP supports US-Afghan Taliban talks in Qatar

PESHAWAR: The Pakistani Taliban said on Tuesday that it supports peace negotiations between the US and the Afghan Taliban, a week after the Afghan insurgent leaders opened a political office in Qatar.

Tourists shifted from Diamer to Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Following the Nanga Parbat tragedy, 40 tourists and mountaineers have been shifted from Diamer to the Federal Capital.

The majority of foreign tourists are either from Ukraine, Poland or Russia. They are yet to forget the horrific tragedy which took place at Nanga Parbat and say the attackers stole cash and other valuables from while the rest of their belongings were left at the base camp.

Edhi suffering from kidney failure, needs daily dialysis: doctor

KARACHI: Renowned philanthropist, Abdul Sattar Edhi, is suffering from kidney failure, Dr Adib Rizvi said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Speaking at a press conference at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT), Dr Rizvi said that both kidneys of Mr Edhi have “started failing”. He said that although a donor kidney has been requested, there were minimal chances of a successful transplant due to the frail health of Mr Edhi.

Nawaz assures US envoy of “Pakistan’s highest stakes” in Afghan peace

ISLAMABAD: US envoy James Dobbins arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday for talks with Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif and other senior officials on efforts to open peace talks with Afghan Taliban, the premier's office said.

Dobbins, who flew in from Kabul, met Sharif and briefed him on developments relating to Afghanistan, prime minister's office said in a statement.

“The prime minister conveyed to Ambassador Dobbins that Pakistan had the highest stakes in the return of peace and stability to Afghanistan,” it said.

“He assured Mr Dobbins of Pakistan's full commitment to an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process and highlighted various steps Pakistan had taken in the regard,” it said.

اٹارنی جنرل منیر اے ملک نے بتایا کہ وفاقی حکومت آئین کی پاسداری اور قانون کے مطابق یہ کارروائی کرنے کے لیے پر عزم ہے۔

اسلام آباد- پاکستان میں مسلم لیگ (ن) کی وفاقی حکومت نے ملک کا آئین توڑنے کے الزامات پر سابق فوجی صدر پرویز مشرف اور اس عمل میں ان کا ساتھ دینے والوں کے خلاف غداری کا مقدمہ چلانے کا اعلان کیا ہے۔پیر کو سپریم کورٹ کے تین رکنی بنچ کے سامنے اس سلسلے میں دائر درخواستوں کی سماعت کے دوران اٹارنی جنرل منیر اے ملک نے بتایا کہ وفاقی حکومت آئین کی پاسداری اور قانون کے مطابق یہ کارروائی کرنے کے لیے پر عزم ہے۔انہوں نے عدالت میں وفاقی حکومت کا تحریری بیان پڑھتے ہوئے کہا کہ وزیراعظم عدالت اور پاکستانی عوام کو یقین دلاتے ہیں کہ وہ اس سلسلے میں انصاف کی اعلیٰ ترین اقدار کے مطابق اقدامات کریں گے۔
