Magisterial

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has authorised officers of the armed forces to be deputed at polling stations to exercise the powers of first class magistrate on Aug 22 when by-elections in 42 constituencies of the national and provincial assemblies will be held.
A notification issued by the ECP on Tuesday said the powers had been granted under Section 86A to in-charge officers of the armed forces of an area deployed for providing security inside and outside polling stations on the polling day.
