Rimsha Masih granted political asylum in Canada


TORONTO: Rimsha Masih, a Christian girl who faced blasphemy charges in 2012, has sought political asylum in Canada.
According to reports, Rimsha Masih, a resident of Islamabad, has reached Canada along with her family.
She was arrested after a local cleric accused her of burning pages of the Holy Quran. The court had granted her bail and later blasphemy charges were dropped for want of evidence. The witnesses had told the judge that the cleric had framed Rimsha Masih.
