Govt hires lawyers to reopen Swiss cases

ISLAMABAD: The government has hired a Pakistani law firm and lawyers to file an appeal against Swiss government146s decision to close graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

The federal government has informed the Supreme Court that a lawyer had been hired to file an appeal against the Swiss decision to close the cases.
The lawyer belonged to the same law firm, which argued the case during 1997 to 2008. The premier approved the summary forwarded by law secretary Sardar Raza Khan on June 21 in this regard.
PM Adviser on Foreign Affairs also talked to Pakistani Ambassador to the Switzerland over the issue on June 21.
