Four blasts target wine shops in Karachi

KARACHI: Panic gripped the metropolis as a series of coordinated bomb attacks targeted four wine shops Tuesday night, sparking fears days before Eid.
The four attacks took place within the short span of one hour in Defence and Gulshan-e-Iqbal areas. Three low intensity blasts occurred in Defence areas of Khayaban-e-Muslim , Khayaban-e-Rahat and the Seaview.According to reports the blasts targeted four closed wine shops owned by one individual.SP Clifton, Sarfaraz Nawaz said that a young man, who had parked a motorcycle near the site of the blast in Khayaban-e-Muslim, was taken into custody. Initial reports indicated that explosives were planted on a motorcycle.
The second explosion took place shortly after the first near the DHA College for Women on Khayaban-e-Rahat.

The third explosion took place in the Moti Mahil area in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The fourth explosion was reported in the Seaview area of the city.
According to the police, all the four blasts took place outside closed wine shops and no loss of life was reported.
