Power tariff saw 10 hikes in one year

ISLAMABAD: The previous year proved to be a tough one for the power consumers as they had to bear the burden of as many as 10 hikes in the electricity tariff in the name of fuel adjustment.
The power tariff was raised by 85 paisa per unit in July 2012 as a result of a fuel adjustment. In August the power prices were increased by 5 paisa per unit; October 4 paisa; November 91 paisa; December 33 paisa.

In January 2013 the tariff was hiked by 55 paisa per unit; February 63 paisa; March 33 paisa; April 74 paisa; May Rs1.12 and; in June the electricity was made expensive by Rs1.15 per unit.
