Two killed in Peshawar warehouse explosion

PESHAWAR: At least two people were killed and two others were injured when explosive material blew up at a warehouse in Peshawars Ring Road area on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.
According to police, those injured in the blast that occurred inside the scrap warehouse were children.
The bodies and injured were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.According to initial reports, rockets and mortar shells were present in the warehouse.
Assistant commissioner Asad Haroon said the warehouse was owned by an Afghan refugee named Shahid and an operation was launched to apprehend the man.

Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, lies on the edge of Pakistan's tribal areas, labelled by Washington as the main sanctuary for Al Qaeda and Taliban militants in the country. The city has seen frequent attacks by militants in the past few years, with targets ranging from civilians to policemen and other law enforcement personnel.
