Police arrest extortionist with 15 SIMs

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore police have claimed to arrest a member of Bhatta Mafia who had been issuing threat calls to local traders in Lahore.
Traders in Lahore have lodged several separate complaints to police about threats of extortion.The scourge of extortion, which has been afflicting businesses in Karachi for many years, is now starting to surface in Lahore.

Traders and other businessmen have approached police after receiving calls to pay hefty amount of extortion.So far, four such cases have been registered in different areas of the city including Shahd Bagh, Shalimar and Mughalpura. However Police have failed to arrest any culprit so far.
Muhammad Ashraf, a trader, said he was asked to pay Rs200,000 extortion by a person named Nadeem.
The complainant said that Nadeem has threatened kidnap his son Imran if he refused to pay extortion.
