ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has sought explanation from the inter-provincial coordination ministry and Najam Sethi over his appointment as acting Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Geo News reported Monday.
The IHC was hearing a petition challenging Najam Sethi146s appointment as PCB146s acting chairman. The petition was filed on Wednesday by a citizen of Islamabad through Advocate Tariq Asad.
The applicant had argued that Sethi146s appointment as PCB chairman was made on political grounds. Najam Sethi has no understanding of cricket affairs, it said, pleading that he should be barred from work on immediate basis.
During todays proceedings, Justice Shaukat Aziz remarked that he came to know about Sethis appointment as PCB chief through media reports.
It was observed that Najam Sethi name was not included in the candidates list submitted in the court earlier.
Later, the court sought explanation from Najam Sethi and the inter-provincial coordination
ministry, and adjourned the hearing till July 4
