Boxer Saqib was involved serious crimes: Rangers

KARACHI: Spokesman Sindh Rangers Monday maintained that Boxer Saqib had been involved in many serious crimes including killings and extortion, and the Rangers did not execute him as a specific target but he was killed as a result of exchange of fire during a search operation.
The spokesman said that a targeted operation was carried out in Nayabad neighbourhood of Lyari town on Friday as a routine action to maintain law and order. The Rangers team was fired upon by the accused. The Rangers returned the fire and as a result one of the accused was killed. He was later identified as Saqib alias Boxer, he said.
The spokesman further said that a number of cases had been registered against Saqib for involvement in various crimes including killings, kidnapping for ransom and extortion.
He said Saqib was also accused of killing four people including a woman in Kharadar and injuring a dozen others on the same day before his own killing.
