Rabbani calls for formation of CCI

KARACHI: Additional Secretary General of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Mian Raza Rabbani on Saturday called for the formation of Council of Common Interests (CCI).
He was addressing a news conference at Qasr-i-Naz here on Saturday. Coordinator to Sindh Chief Minister, Taj Haider, Special Assistants to Chief Minister Sindh, Waqar Medhi, and Rashid Hussain Rabbani were also present on the occasion.
Rabbani said that 30 days have passed (since formation of the government) but the CCI has not been constituted as yet. He further pointed out that the CCI was quite an important institution.The senator said that the appointment of the Chief Secretary and the Inspector General of Police is federal governments prerogative. However, it is a tradition that the provincial government is taken into confidence in this regard, he added.
He said the PPP is a federal party and that we are the architect of the 18th constitutional amendment and we would implement it.
